Why I Use It
Zod is the backbone of type safety across almost all my TypeScript projects. I use it to parse and validate API request bodies, environment variables, Sanity payloads, and MCP tool input schemas, eliminating runtime surprises.
When I Recommend It to a Client
Standard requirement for every client codebase to catch invalid data at system boundaries before it hits databases or business logic.
Full Review
TypeScript only guarantees types at compile time. Zod bridges the gap by enforcing types at runtime. Whether validating incoming webhook payloads, parsing environment variables on server boot, or enforcing strict tool schemas for LLM function calls, Zod prevents silent failures and produces readable error messages.
